Car accidents seem to be the main cause of people’s deaths, while a lot of those affected end up being seriously injured or disfigured permanently. One would say injuries are certain whenever and wherever there is an accident, especially car accidents. That is why most of those affected are either taken to workers compensation doctor or advised to visit workers compensation doctor for proper medical attention.
Although some of the causes of car accidents may seem to be obvious and redundant to those who have spent more than 5years behind the wheels, this list of causes of car accidents will help to get all levels of drivers educated. The truth is that when one is acquainted with the possible causes of car accident, he or she will endeavour to avoid being involved. So, below are the causes of car accidents included in my list:
- Distracted driving
A lot of people think that the main causes of accidents are when a criminal drives drunk, runs a red light or speeds, but the truth is that distracted driving is the number one cause of most car accidents in the U.S. For those that know not who a distracted driver is, a distracted driver is one who switches his or her attention from the road, often to send a text message, eat food, talk with someone on a cell phone, etc.
- Speeding
This cause of car accidents is not a strange or new thing to us because we see some drivers on the highway ignoring the speed limit. We all know that speed kills, and any driver driving above the speed limit is liable to cause a car accident. A lot of drivers have forgotten that the faster they driver, the slower their reaction time gets if there is any need to avoid an auto crash.
- Driving while drunk
There is saying that one should not drink while driving and one should not drive while drunk. The truth is that when you are drunk, you lose every ability to focus and function correctly, and it’s very dangerous as long as you are behind the wheels. Driving while drunk is among the main causes of auto accidents, and the best way to avoid it is to abstain from any form of alcoholic drink while driving, or you can use a designated driver if you want to go out and drink.
- Rains
Another cause of accident is rain because whenever the weather is bad, the roads get bad as well. It is usually hard for some drivers to drive under the rain, and that is why you as a driver should avoid driving when it’s raining or better still, drive with caution if you really need to drive to somewhere.
- Running red lights
This is one of the causes that do not only cause car accidents but deaths, and many drivers are guilty of this. One you are driving, you have to bear in mind that red lights mean “stop”, while green means “go”, ensure you avoid running red lights so as not to have collisions with vehicles coming from the sides in high speed.
